Buyer/Planner
Santa Barbara Office
MetaCreations is
looking for an experienced Buyer/Planner for its
Carp-based headquarters. Responsibilities include
managing the bid/quote process, vendor selection and
price negotiation. Will set proper inventory levels for
each component and finished goods item based on the
economic reorder quantity, purchase and track componentry
items, develop product forecasts, schedule and monitor
finished goods builds, drive cost reduction programs,
monitor vendor performance & quality. Position
requires a BA/BS, 2+ years experience in electronic or
software industry, proficient in MS Office, Windows,
e-mail and internet use. Must have excellent organization
and communication skills, be self-motivated, detail &
task oriented and able to successfully manage multiple
priorities.

Software Engineers
Software
Engineers needed to research,design and develop the next
generation of our computer graphics products. Assist with
the development of software system testing procedures,
programming and documentation. Knowledge of real-time
image processing (Mac & Intel based architectures.)

"inner loop" efficiency a plus. Strong

Senior engineers
w/ 5+ professional experience to work on the next
generation of our computer graphics products (pro and
consumer). Strong mathematics background and expert level

User Interface
Designer
Creative,
cutting edge designers needed. Assist with designing
& implementing the interaction system between the
computer and the user. Knowledge of computer programming,
software applications, color space theory and design
theory. Use digital image processing and digital signal

C, C+, C++, HTML, and JAVA. Working knowledge of Windows

Director of Service
& Support
Reporting into
the VP of Worldwide Operations, Service and Support, this
person will be responsible for Technical Support,
Customer Service and Call Center functions of the company
ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and
product quality while meeting necessary cost targets.
Responsibilities include
- maximizing customer satisfaction through efficient
performance of in-house and outsourced service and
support teams.
- Ensure product quality is of a high standard by
Technical Support and Service involvement in the New
Product Introduction process.
- Maintain and manage a Paid-for-Support model, online
support and knowledge base.
- Ensure that the necessary processes and communication
structures are in place between Product Management, Q.A.,

Manager-Digital Imaging
Responsibilities:
This product manager will have cradle-to-grave
responsibility for all aspects of the MetaCreations Soap
product. This position will be responsible for product
planning, project management and marketing management of
the MetaCreations Soap product. This position will work
closely with other groups to launch the products and
implement marketing programs.
Qualifications:
Requires a BA/BS degree, MBA preferred. Must have 2-4
years of software product marketing. Experience defining
and managing products; launching and marketing products,
especially marketing shrink-wrap software products.

Director of Product
Management
Responsibilities:
The Director of Product Management position will be
responsible for managing a team of 6-7 Product Managers,
write business plans, and drive product direction and
strategy. This position will ensure the timely completion
and effective rollouts of all products. This position
will work closely with engineering to guide projects and
also work with third parties and strategic partners. This
position will be responsible for hiring staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelors degree, MBA desired, and 5-7 years
experience. Candidate should have prior team
management/building experience and product management
experience with graphics software. Requires demonstrated
strong analytic and quantitative skills, communication

Santa Cruz Office
MetaCreations is
looking for three staff writers to join its Publications
department.
Responsibilities: Develop printed and electronic
documentation for a variety of graphic applications; Edit
original and existing documentation; develop online help
such as WinHelp and HTML; schedule documentation
deliverables and publish documentation plans.
Qualifications:
BA/MA in English, Technical Communications, or related
discipline or comparable experience. 3+ years of
experience as a technical writer with excellent writing
skills applied in the software development field.
Experience with FrameMaker, RoboHELP, Acrobat, and Web
authoring tools. Experience writing documentation for 2D
and 3D graphics applications preferred.

Oracle DBA needed for corporate headquarters in Santa
Barbara. Must have 3+ years experience w/ financial
applications/modules, knowledge of UNIX-command line
operation, UNIX editor (e.g.vi) shell scripting,

7 server DBA experience pref'd, application or server

Quality Assurance
Manager
Santa Barbara Office
Our casual,
creative but hardworking QA department needs a manager.
The
ideal candidate will manage and participate in the
testing of alpha, and
beta versions of a variety of MetaCreations software
applications and be
responsible for the technical and functional quality of
the software.
Confirm and verify bug fixes in subsequent beta versions,
update QA bug
database, communicate project status and relevant issues
to appropriate
parties, write and implement test scripts and plans, work
with existing
staff to improve QA process, and continue to test
products after they are
released to insure that newly found bugs are fixed in the
next revision.
You will attend and represent QA at product status
meetings, conduct
performance reviews and HR related issues for 3 direct
reports and closely
interact with Engineering, Product Management, OEM Sales,
and Technical
Support.
The successsful candidate will have 4+ years experience
testing, 3+ years
at the management level, excellent organizational skills
and be able to
participate and supervise others in the management and
tracking of bugs
across multiple platforms and releases. This is a hands
on position: if you
wish only to delegate, this is not for you. We are
looking for a leader
who is levelheaded, fair, consistant, and objective.
Strong communication
skills are required, both verbal and written. In-depth
knowledge software
graphics applications, an understanding of the creative
process, and a
background or strong interest in traditional art,
computer graphics,
graphic design, or photography is desirable. BA/BS
required.
